FAQ

1) Does the Training cover MOSS 2007 installation and deployment?

It covers a single server and a small farm configuration installation. There will be no hands on exercises but the student will be encouraged to do it on a virtual PC of their own. Deployment of webparts etc will be covered.

2) Are we trained of developing and deployment of Custom Web Parts?

It will cover develoment of custom webparts to certain extent. But you are expected to use the ASP.net webpart experience you already have.

3) Do we need to know .NET to learn Sharepoint? If yes, how much?

For custom webpart development one needs to do ASP.net, but with the material which is covered the student should be able to work from there.

4) I am a Masters student just graduated. Would you have any discount rates for me?

No everyone has to pay the same rates.

5) How is Online training different from Onsite training. Would I be able to practice on weekdays by logging into your servers or so?

Server access will be provided for the training period and for about a month after the training finishes.

6) Do you provide material?

Some powerpoint slides will be provided (These are the class powerpoint presentations).

7) How about support, before and during the initial project?

During the project -> Email support would be provided for support on project. Students are expected to do their homework well. The support emails will not be tutorial format. Limited phone calls will be entertained but in case of emergency phone is fine.

Before the project -> Support is conditional and is solely at our discretion

8) If you want access to the sharepoint server for more than two months can they get it?

So far, based on our experience we have found no one in need of the server access beyond 2 months. If such a need arises we can work it out on a pay as you go basis. The charge can be discussed at that point of time.
